ABOUT ALI

Ali Zamani is an American film director. He spent his formative years in Sweden working at his fathers video store where his interest for cinema and visual story telling quickly grew into a passion. By the age of fourteen, Ali would cast his friends to star in his short movies and would get his mother to be the cinematographer. He pursued his love for the art-form at Bournemouth University where he attained his Higher National Diploma in Video Production followed by a Bachelors of Arts degree in Film, Video, Media and Society from Northbrook College, UK. During his time at Northbrook Institute, Ali directed several short films, one of which was chosen to be screened at the Duke of York's Cinema in Brighton. Following this success, he became even more dedicated to furthering his studies, ultimately receiving his Masters in Mass Communication at California State University Northridge. In 2006, after graduating, he along with his brother Zeus Zamani, spearheaded the birth and growth of AZ Films, a multifaceted production company located in Los Angeles, California.

Since the birth of AZ Films, Ali has directed more than 300 music video's and dozens of commercials internationally. In 2012 his Commercial for Luxor "The Comeback Kid", and music video "Love Like Magic", were awarded two silver Davey Awards in the Film/Video/TV, and Music Video categories.

His previous music video clients include; Snoop Dogg, Enrique Iglesias, T-Pain, Lil Wayne, French Montana, P-Diddy and Googoosh, just to name a few. Commercial clients include Luxor Casino Hotel, Black Mask Rum, H2 Rose, A&R for Drake and more.

Ali has until now directed four feature films. "Maul Dogs", an urban comedy starring hip-hop artist Murs, was released nationwide in late 2015 . He recently finished post-production on his second feature film "Opus of an Angel"; a passion project which he spent 3 years developing and writing. The film is an uplifting drama with a spiritual undertone starring William McNamara and introduces the born-blind actress, Kaylynn Kubeldis. His third feature film, a comedy "EuroClub", shot mostly in Austria, was premiered in December 2016 in Europe and is set to be released in the US 2018. Ali just wrapped up production on his recent fantasy-adventure movie "Angels Fallen" starring Michael Madsen and Nick Turturro.
